Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has gotten a message of sympathy, routed to the government and people of Sri Lanka, from the Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe on 15 April 2017, expressing his sincere sympathies, and that of his government and people, on the current disaster at a garbage dump in Sri Lanka, which has prompted the lamentable death toll and property.

Sixteen people are estimated to have died, many harmed and many more rendered destitute by this tragic event.

In the result of this catastrophe, Prime Minister Abe has compassionately offered Japan’s help to recuperation endeavors. A specialized group from Japan is probably going to visit Sri Lanka at the soonest to take load of the circumstance and aid healing measures. Points of interest are presently being worked out.
