The global industry of the United Nation’s Organization is entered for the first time in Sri Lanka in 1969 for a chemical project and since then, it has implemented 240 projects in the country, with six new projects on the cards.

“Sri Lanka has undertaken an ambitious development effort within the vision of reform of the leadership of the Government of unity. UNIDO has implemented approximately 240 projects in the country with a total budget of over $ 52 million,”said the Directorgeneral of the Organization of the United Nations for industrial development Li YongYong, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Finance of China, evokes the presence of UNIDO in Sri Lanka in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the UnitedNations for to the industrial development (UNIDO) which falls on November 17.
